Set among the fortress of forests and papyrus-fringed rivers of Botswana's Okavango Delta, this remarkable wildlife drama captures the secret night time activities of the rare and little-known Pels fishing owl.

By day, the majestic African fish eagle commands the fishing fields, leading a relentless assault in which spectacular array of fish predators, from aquatic birds to sinister invertebrates, feed in the rich waterways.

By night, the haunting calls of the fishing owl roll across the still waters and, free of the fish agle's domineering presence, these huge, specialised owls leave the seclusion of the forests to demonstrate not only their remarkable hunting skills, but also endearing family behaviour never observed before.
